Sock Snowmen--a fun (and easy!) craft with kids

My friend (who also happens to be the co-founder of Alphabet Summer Kits), posted a link to a kids craft on facebook a few days ago.  Once I realized I had almost all the needed materials and zero sewing was required I knew I had to try it.

My kids had so much fun making these sock snowmen I thought they were going to nominate me Mom of the Day.  The snowmen took so little skill and turned out so cute that I would have seconded their nominations.

Look how much they love their sock snowmen!
Obviously, since we wanted larger snowmen, we used Marco's socks (only the ones that had holes in them honey!).  I cut off the foot part and used just the elstacky top portion of the sock.

I thought my snowwoman's rosy cheeks and lipstick added a touch of maturity.
We tied the bottom off with a rubber band and flipped the sock inside-out.  About 1/4 cup of rice on the bottom helped the snowman figure out which end was down.
I love the eyelashes on Ariana's snowwoman.
We stuffed those socks with batting up to their brims and then tied the tops off again with a rubberband.  Another band went around their middles, helping discern the difference between their heads and their bottoms.
Ike wanted a more manly hat for his snowman.  A very holey brown sock was put to good use to fulfill his desire.
The blog that originally made the sock snowmen used buttons for their eyes.  But, since I'm not a seamstress, I didn't have random buttons around my house.  We just used felt for everything!
